The Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino is centrally situated in the city of Windhoek, the capital of Namibia and is 45 km (30 minutes) from Windhoek Airport.
Climate
In summer, the temperature in the Kalahari basin climbs up to 40 degrees Celsius and higher. The annual rainfall is rarely more than 100 mm, and can only be expected between December and April, when tropical thunderstorm activity extends down to the Kalahari basin. Then it rains huge amounts in a short time, and the desert transforms into a green oasis with colourful wild flowers all over.
In winter (June to August), the climate is pleasant. Then the air is dry, and temperatures lie around 25 degrees Celsius. But the nights are harshly cold. |

The Kalahari Sands Hotel offers a small and intimate conference venue and banqueting facility, located on the rooftop of the hotel, with magnificent views of the city.
Conference Equipment
The latest electronic conference aids have been installed in the new conference centre, including: data lines, satellite decoders, video conferencing facilities, and laptop presentation equipment. All the conference rooms have pull-down projection screens.
International Business Centre
Located on the first floor, the business centre offers all the facilities of a normal office, with a wide range of equipment and back-up secretarial services. Air reservations, aircraft charter, and Avis Car Rental are situated here.

- Rates are quoted are per room per night.
- Rates include VAT and breakfast but exclude a 1% tourism levy.
- Check in time is after 14h00 and check out time is at 12h00.
- Positive ID will be required at check in.
Child Policy
Children under the age of 12 years (max 2) sharing a family room with 2 adults are accommodated free of charge.
Children are accommodated on a double sleeper couch or on twin beds, subject to the availability of family rooms.
Payment and Cancellation Policy
Full payment is required 40 days prior to arrival.
For bookings made within 40 days of arrival, full payment is required on confirmation of the booking.
Please be advised that cancellation less than 7 days prior to arrival will be charged a 1 nights accommodation fee.
In the event of a non-arrival on the day1 night’s accommodation fee will be charged.
Refunds are subject to a 10% administration fee. |
