We at Islands in Africa are extremely proud to bring you an opportunity to experience another unique island in Africa. Surrounded on all sides by seductively wild and powerful waterways, Ntwala Island Lodge is the most pristine and secluded Chobe destination. Intricate floating walkways link an untouched Namibian cluster of islands within the Mambova rapids where two mighty African rivers – the Zambezi and Chobe converge, only 80km upstream from the Victoria Falls and where white sands and palm trees add to the romance – belying the fact that this lodge is in Africa!
Ntwala Island Lodge comprises of four ultra luxury styled suites artfully appointed, each inclusive of a private plunge pool fringed by white sand and opulent viewing deck, bay bath feature; indoor and outdoor shower; as well as a private sala extending enticingly out over the water we ensure personalised service, culinary expertise and quality privately guided big game activities. These small islands offer exclusivity and isolation – a complete holistic African experience.
Our staff is handpicked from the local communities, as part of our ongoing commitment to local upliftment and empowerment. The lodge is ultra luxurious ensuring a high degree of personalized service, and keeping in line with the low impact tourism policy of Islands in Africa. Ensuring our ethos at all times; guest choice, comfort and privacy are paramount. Activities at Ntwala are predominantly water borne and privately guided, and the close and convenient proximity to Chobe National Park ensures guests will have exclusivity and a comprehensive wildlife experience. Each suite has a boat and guide to ensure individual choice, flexibility and privacy.
Meander the multiple waterways with your personal guide and private boat, indulging in a vast array of activities; mokoro the quiet backwaters or take in an exclusive Chobe sunset cruise whilst viewing Africa’s big game. - Game viewing Game cruises along the Chobe River with possible sightings of elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, rare puku, Chobe bushbuck and many more.
- Fishing Fly fishing or conventional fishing from either a mokoro in the rapids or motorized boat on the Zambezi, Chobe or Kasai Rivers for tigerfish, bream and many other species.
- Bird watching Spot some of Africa’s rarest birds in the varied habitats of the islands and surrounding floodplains: Rock pratincole, Pels fishing owl, Pygmy geese, African skimmers.
- Guided walks The islands offer many unrestricted walks, including an Afro botanical tree walk (learning about the traditional uses of plants and trees).
- Cultural Visit a traditional fishing village and learn the timeless ways of the local people.
- Mokoro trips For bird watching, fishing or just pure relaxation while exploring the nearby wild islands and waterways.
- Victoria Falls Day trips to Victoria Falls by charter, including a “Flight of the Angels”, can be arranged at an additional charge Road transfers can be arranged to see the Falls from either the Zambian or Zimbabwean side.
- Scenic flights Charter over the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers and Impalila Island – at an additional charge.

Terms and Conditions
Rates are applicable for international visitors. All SA residents to enquire when booking.
- Rates are quoted are per person per night, either on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis or Full Board including activities, or on a Lunch, Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis.
- The rates are quoted in Namibian Dollars and are inclusive of VAT but excluding the NTB Tourism levy.
- Rates are subject to change without prior notice. This include any possible change in VAT, or any other levy, tax and the possible devaluation of the Namibian currency.
- We reserve the right to amend the quoted tariffs on activities taking place in a national park, should there by a change in park entrance fees.
- All bookings are subject to availability.
- Activities, and other charges other than those included in the rate sheet, are to be settled upon check-out.
- Check-in is as from 14h00 on day of arrival, and check-out at 10h00 on the day of departure. A late departure or early check-in can be arranged directly with the Accommodation establishment concerned, and will be subject to availability of rooms.
The following cancellation fees will apply:
30 – 21 days prior to arrival : 10%
20 – 14 days prior to arrival : 20%
13 – 8 days prior to arrival : 50%
7 days and less : 100%
Payment Policy
All reservations are to be paid in full as per the Reservation Confirmation;
All major credit cards are accepted;
Should payment be made via electronic transfer or directly into the banking account, proof of payment must be forwarded to Cybercapetown.
Children Policy
Children aged 3 years and younger are accommodated free of charge.
Children aged between 3 – 11 years sharing a room with parents pay 50% of the per person sharing rate;
Children aged 12 years and older will pay the normal rates. |
